>>5448124Ironically, I'm pretty sure the Apex skin you were using was also derived from nostalgia (from the same era, even!) and not modern gender theory. What I see there is a clear riff on 80s conceptions of post-apocalyptic scrap-armour (ala Beyond Thunderdome or Waterworld), spiced with some of the gaudy, garish neon fashion of the late 80s/early 90s (which is back in fashion today, of course).
I think the mask is going for a bit of a Polynesian ritual mask motif, too. Scowling monster/spirit face, bugged out eyes, tuft of grass to represent hair...
