Sailater flops down on the ground and squeezes his eyes closed! When you look down at Sailater he opens one eye and peeks up at you.
The Empress stomps her foot and says "Sailater!" and then Sailater opens one eye and peeks at the Empress and then squeezes his eyes shut! "But... but Sailaters always do as I ask."
What? You think it seems like the Empress is going to start crying?
When the Empress sees you looking at her she looks away and says "Why won't he do as I ask?"
You look at the Empress for a moment and then you look at Sailater and Sailater opens one eye and peeks at you and then Sailater glances at the Empress and looks at you again.

You grin at the Empress and she kneels down and wipes her eyes and looks away. "The Sailaters are supposed to be MY friends!"
Even though the Empress is trying to hide it, you can tell she's crying! Do you think you should do something?
You walk past Sailater toward the Empress and kneel down next to her and give her a hug and she tries to pull away but then she doesn't move at all.
"They're my only family."
What? The Empress just said the Sailaters are her family?
When you sit up and look at the Empress she nods and looks at the ground. "I never knew my parents. I was raised by Sailaters." The Empress sniffles and says "The people in the Imperial City decided I was the Empress because the Sailaters do as I ask."
You let go of the Empress and she looks at her lap and sniffles again and wipes her eyes. "But Sailaters don't speak very much." When the Empress glances up at you she smiles and then she wipes her eyes again. "I enjoyed our chat."
It seems like the Empress is lonely because she doesn't have any friends to chat with!
You give the Empress a big hug!

What? Ramster is here? When you look behind you over your shoulder you see Ramster, Tamounda, Lottatax, Joe, and Ekro all sitting on top of the wall looking down at you and then you notice Onlion and Sailater looking at you!

Suddenly the Empress stands up and dusts herself off and looks up at Joe and then looks at you. "I may have... that is... I wish you and Joe safe travel."
Sailater walks past Onlion toward you and then stands next to you and looks down at you. It seems like Sailater wants to come with!
