“You wouldn’t happen to have some Arctic Fox in ya that could help us track this down, do you, Yamcha?” you question, half-jokingly, half-seriously.
“Hah! Nah, more of a desert fox myself.” he replies cheerfully.
“Cold deserts count as deserts.” you point out cheekily. But looks like you’ve gotta work this out. No splitting up to look for clues. “Scouters up, folks. Let’s start looking, and everyone stay close.”
All of you search for a bit, with you scanning for any unusual bits of tech while also sensing for any hints of Magic you can find. And… you kinda hit upon an idea. Transforming into your Mahou form, you use that to pump up your Scouter’s abilities, and… AHA! You do detect something!
…Something that seems buried pretty deep in the ice and snow. Glaciers have covered it over, by the look of things. You guide everyone in the direction of it, trying to see if you can get any hint of something even slightly poking out from all the ice. As you move closer, you sense a few things in the area. Animals, of all things. Getting a glimpse of one, you see it’s a… giant penguin?
…What’s a penguin doing this far north? Oh, oh wait no, it’s no penguin, it’s an auk! …An auk the size of your dad. “Ah! A local!” Bon Para comments, heading on over to the animal. “Hey hey! You there! Mind giving us some directions?”
However strange the oversized bird may have been, it seems to have not expected a large blue alien to greet it, much less ask it for directions. “Waaaak?”
“Uh, I don’t think that’s…” Yamcha begins, but you have him stop. You wanna see where this goes.
“Big ol’ ruins in the area, ya know anything about ‘em? Boss here has been leadin’ us towards ‘em.” He points his thumb back at you.
The bewildered bird stares for a moment, then turns its head and points a wing towards an outcropping of what looks like rock. “Waaaaaaak.”
“Hey thanks!” He turns back to you. “Lil’ guy here says there’s somethin’ close, big structure under there that he and his buddies have happened upon it from time to time.”
“Waaaaaak!” the bird lets out.
Bon Para turns back to him. “...Oh, uh, any of you got any fish on ya?”
Yamcha blinks. “Um. Tuna sandwich okay?”
“Waaaaaak!” The bird flies over to him, and WOW that is a big bird. As tall as your dad, and almost able to look you in the eyes. “Waaaaaaak!”
Yamcha hands over the sandwich, and the bird happily takes it and flies off. Cheelai’s finally the one to ask the obvious question. “What in the heck just happened?”
“Oh, that guy’s telepathic.” Bon Para replies. “Picked up on me and Don thinkin’ on lyrics for our new dance routine. Figured if he’s a local, he might have an idea on where to narrow things down a bit.”
