>SELECTED: You will do nothing unusual outside of your regular duties. But you may volunteer to cover shifts or purposefully find yourself assigned to roles, such as guarding palace officials or foreign delegations, where useful information is more likely to drop into your lap. [Hearty]
Listening to your comrades speak, you're not blind to the wealth of intelligence that could be gleaned during your time here. That will only expand further as your lessons with Antoninus bear fruit, and it would be a shame to waste that standing idly by in empty halls for your entire tenure hear and risk gleaning little more than casual Palace gossip from passing servants. You've no intention of drawing attention to yourself, but you will keep an eye out for roles and postings within the Guard that may place you closer to the heart of the Palace Games.
Your first Palace Rota with the Dragon Guard continues in much the same manner as the previous day, long hours standing in watchful guard over the Dragon’s prized collection of bizarre creatures from across the known world and beyond. Even an exotic setting such as this, there is little to break up the monotony of sentry duty beyond the occasional checkpoint with visitors and Palace attendants. You’re not bored enough to begin to hope for some excitement, such as one of the deadly exhibits escaping, but you find yourself relieved for the change of pace when the 43rd Talon shifts over to Drill Rota.
