Quoted By:
“Duke Guion, I am grateful for the boon you are presenting to me.” Lucian said as he bowed his head, “I however must insist that another boon be given. One, if you allow it, would help immeasurably in my journey.”
The Knight moved his hands towards his companion. Tee-Nee-Tyny bowing his head as acknowledging the customs of the court, “This lizardman is Tee-Nee-Tyny, a confidant of mine who seeks to uncover these horrors that we find ourselves facing. I am grateful that you allowed him entrance into these blessed chambers, for he is no Beastman but something far different. What I need is a document of assurance for those who may question him otherwise.”
“A writ?” The Duke looked towards the Lizardman in question, “I allowed him in due to the haste of the situation and his clear temperament. At first I thought him a pet of yours but here he bows to me like any other man. Lizardman, Tee-Nee-Tyny, I have only heard of creatures like you from the tales of Bordelluxian sailors written or told. From where do you hail?”
“The Children of the Old Ones come from the land you know as Lustria and those south of what Warmbloods know to be Araby.” The Lizard said almost perfectly with manner that was divorce from his appearance. He had a diplomat’s grace to him, almost as if this was what he was made for, “Those of Lustria are not the Children of Chaos, but staunch warriors against it and all who bring such disorder to the world. Tee-Nee-Tyny’s duty, as was ordained by the Old Ones, was to fight against it.”
The man seemed to weigh his manner for a moment, taking in the words that were spoken. A dreadful set of circumstances the Knight Lucian knew was here and he could not look at creatures like the Lizardmen at either face or claimed value.
“There are the fey of Athel Loren, the Dwarves of the Mountains, and the Ogres of far distant lands.” The Duke declared as he presented a hand towards the Lizard, “I give it to you, as a token of the duty you have shown my realm. Do not make me regret it.”
“I will not, oh Lord.” The Lizardman said as he cowed his head in reverence.
And like that, this audience had ended.
