Not wanting to waste any time, you clambered up to the railing with supernatural speed, using your adhesive grip to avoid slipping on the slick and mossy deck. As soon as you reached your destination, you sprung from your perch, launching yourself high into the air. With practiced ease, you rotated your body towards the mast and fired a webline near the area where Callisto was clinging for dear life.
You didn’t have any of the Prowler’s mathematical prowess, but you did have an instinctive grasp of your abilities that allowed you to correctly gauge the length of webbing and the distance with which you could safely operate within in order to get from point A to point B. This simple sense was what enabled you to swing at a perfect downward arc that would bring you face to snout with the Tick Tock Croc.
When spotted you, he opened his massive jaws as if to snatch you out of the air, but you anticipated this. Releasing your webline a little earlier than you’d originally planned, you kicked your legs upwards, bringing you just above the croc’s range. If he wanted to get you, he would’ve had to jump for it, thus compromising his current position on the Verdant Voyager.
He made no such moves, giving you an easy opportunity to climb onto his long snout and place a powerful, explosive Mark onto it. Using your powerful legs, you leapt off of his head and high into the air, avoiding his attempts to shake you off as the Mark detonated with a deafening BOOM!
Tick Tock recoiled from the blow, snarling and snapping its jaws open and closing them with casual, bone-crushing force. While he was distracted, you dove back in, crawling around to the back of his neck and wrapping several layers of webbing around his massive jaws to hold them shut. At the same time, an abundance of arrows, rocks, glass shards, knives, and strange gadgets flew through the air, pelting the giant lizard with an almost overwhelming amount of firepower.
But right as you were about to loop the last layer around its bottom jaw, the giant croc’s entire body jolted. A series of loud explosions brought your attention back to the Jolly Roger. Its crew were fighting with Peter Pan, and some of them were now firing upon the overgrown lizard while it was occupying itself with the Verdant Voyager!
Another round of cannon-shot pelted Tick Tock, carving out a chunk of leathery flesh and causing it to lose its balance. In the process, your improvised muzzle slipped off, and you tumbled into the sea, right alongside the beast of legend.
Your unexpected plunge left you in a daze as you struggled to regain your bearings. The sounds of battle coming from above were muffled in your ears, and your whole body ached.
Suddenly, something very large shifted near you in the water, and cold realization crept into your mind, even without having to see what it was.
