>'Reductive reasoning will get you nowhere, and I see now that nothing I say can get through to you...'
[SATOMI] "Hmhm!"
[MAJORDOMO] "Well, what are we gonna do now?"
[JOCO] "I have an idea!"
And that is?
[JOCO] "Lemme just take over for a second."
Sigh.
Why not?
'Ahem...'
>'Instead, I challenge you to a true test of intellect... Checkers.'
[SATOMI] "Ohoh? Belkinsir Draughts? Really now? Of all the games you would challenge me in. Why this one?"
'Does it need to be as complex as Go for you to feel satisfied in yourself? Are you truly above checkers?' I said, speaking Joco's words.
Satomi frowned at me. I couldn't read her mind, only her facial expression. It showed something that seemed insulted to me. Perhaps I'd doubted she was able to do it, or Joco did as he controlled me for this second. It was enough to spark some need to prove herself anyway.
[SATOMI] "Bring your board. I might as well indulge in this."
'Even if you are held prisoner here, I won't torture you. I'll ensure it isn't dull either, at the least.' I said, feeling Joco's piloting of myself wither.
I raised my finger and twisted it up. Before us both, a board appeared in the air within her cell and in Satomi's reach. I had it set with two sets of pieces, black and red. I had red. Satomi smirked at me, as if she knew her victory was certain in this little game.
'Joco, where are we going with this exactly?'
[JOCO] "Shhh, just play along! Trust me on this one! I got a gut feeling... So use this chance to let her guard fall as much as it can. I feel like we'll catch something here!"
'Hmph. Okay...'
[SATOMI] "Since I'm willing to indulge this rather unexpected offer, you can have the first move."
>Make a move.
