Moving along, but if anyone else had anything else they wanted to talk about feel free to ask and I'll address it
Babs ran a hand through her long hair and looked up at the sky. “It’s going to get before long, you should probably get back to your own camp. Some of the nastier critters come out at night. Of course if you think you can handle them it can be a good time to get some extra ruin diving done. If you don’t mind me asking, where are you camped out at?”
Mel pointed at the tips of the hilltop tombs, just barely visible over the tree line. “That circle of…tombs I guess?”
Babs nodded. “It’s not a bad spot. There’s some old ward that keeps animals away from it, and rain clouds seem to avoid it for some reason. Creepy though. I’ve heard that there’s a city if you go far enough to the north, but I’ve never been there. Not sure how a city of mages would hold together though…our kind don’t do well in groups.”
Mel nodded. Such a place, if it existed, would be a gold mine of tools and knowledge though.
“It is getting dark…Thanks for the help.”
“Sure. And Mel?”
“Yeah?”
“Those tattoos on your other arm, the birds and the bull?”
“Is that what it is?”
“They’re beacons. Something is being drawn to you. Be careful when it gets to you.”

A beacon. Two in fact. The five circles had become four and a sliver as the sun touched the horizon. She needed to be ready. Babs had warned her that darkness brought out nasty creatures, but it might be worth it to keep pushing and exploring. On the other hand she had a tome of unread knowledge in the safety of her meager camp.
