You expect Kibito to try and stop you, but… he just stands there for a moment, before taking what looks more like a rehearsed, even almost programmed-looking battle stance. Eagalia however has taken him down too, with everyone now even more confused by what just happened.
“PEPPA WHAT THE HELL!?” Videl exclaims.
“Eagalia this is madness…!”
“THIS ISN’T SHIN!” you yell out, bringing this person up from the floor. “He’s still trapped in another timeline!”
“And this…” Eagalia lets out a soft pulse of Ki, the pulls off a weird bug-like device from Kibito. The glossy look in his eyes fades as she lets him go, though he slumps over and groans, clearly out of it. “Is a Psy-Scarab.” She then crushes it in her hand.
“Shin” chuckles… and his form shifts slightly, a small Explosive Wave let out that “sheds” the Shin disguise, revealing a small humanoid bug-man kind of thing. “I have what I came here for. Goodbye, organics!”
You manage to punch him in the head quicker than he can really react, knocking him down and dazing him. “I don’t think so. How about you start telling us what you were trying to do there, buddy?”
Kibito is helped up by Eagalia, groaning still. “Nngghh…”
“Lord Kai, are you all right?” Eagalia asks.
“Y-yes… thank you…”
Maple and Pantea move to him, while 19, Videl, and Raditz all gather around you. “That was an impressive fake, I’ll admit.” Videl tells him with a glare.
“That’s Hranata,” Bravyj notes as the mood in the room calms. “We thought he was lost with Viga during the Cataclysm. He’s an expert in espionage and manipulation. The Psy-Scarabs are one of the worst of his repertoire, able to take over the minds of organic and machine alike.”
“How’d he take Shin’s form?” Maple asks. “And how’d he get that thing on you?”
“He… appeared on a relatively barren world a few moments ago.” Kibito answers. “When Elder Kai found him, I rushed to his aid immediately.” He shakes his head. “I was foolish, I lowered my guard, and ended up in a hazed state where I could do little more than follow orders and give answers when asked.”
“Gullible, just like the rest of you.” Hranata states in an almost cackling voice. “My disguise took some… research, but once Demiurgos learned The Truth, it was all too easy to put it all together.”
