>>6119456Somewhere else, as the light of the morning becomes the heatshimmer haze of the dawn, Scarlett and Martik are rustling in the bushes.
Down below this outcrop, one section of the Windsworn camp spreads out. Back down the other way is the Company. But it doesn't take a genius to notice that the dustplume in the distance is coming closer at speed. So maybe the Company will come *to you*.
The Windsworn have noticed too. They're running about, agitated. But a dustplume could mean many things. They're not quite as worried as perhaps one might expect. From the other direction, a few bands of their people have seeping into the camp.
And in the distance, a new section has appeared. Tents. A different style. Set up in regular lines with mechanical precision. Four men are on duty around them, still as statues, wearing what looks like pretty equipment.
Through Scarletts like gearwright spyglass, it seems she's spotted a small heavy infantry detachment among the Windsworn. Strange. Not their usual modus operandi.
Martik checks his equipment. Points at a patrol of Windsworn, yawning down below.
Looks like this place is bound to get quite exciting soon. So we should . . .
>. . . probably get out of here, circle back, and reconnect with the Company. Better deploy with them.>. . . circle *that way* and get closer to their camp. If we can scout out their people and their deployment patterns, maybe we can find a way to get closer to their prisoners. Better deploy in a forward, likely position. Dangerous, but with all the chaos, who'd notice you?>. . . Cause some havoc. We have gearwright kits and a surprising position. Surely we can lay some traps and prepare this area a little ? >You could, concievably, do something else? Do mind that the Windsworn camp is waking up, there's hundreds of them and two of you. You may need to be subtle.
