“I need to lay down, grab a pillow, and take a good night's sleep...” Jesse tries his best not to yawn. “I have to go home today.”
“This [Explorer] has a [Sleeping Bag] to spare.” Galactic is a very magnanimous man.
“Yeah, you’re more than welcome to stay for the night. I’m sure Matilda said she doesn’t mind.” You heard her offer a room to everyone before splitting into this room. “Any room is fine as far as I know.”
“I’ll take the offer…” Jesse doesn’t want to overthink a damn thing and leaves the room. You hear him talk with Oliver in the hallway about where he can lie down.
“Good night, sleepyhead...” There’s tenderness and regret in Kata’s words. You’re left with both Calamitys.
“Cousin, next time be LOUDER.” Galactic advises, believing that there’s no need for animosity between the two.
“It’s better like this, Gallie… I’m the last person he wants to hear being nice to him.” Kata smiles wryly.
“Kata, how do you feel about all of this?” You’re worried about the nurse’s mental health.
“Handsome, I’m the one who wronged him. If you need to be concerned about someone, let it be him.” The Surgeon suggests you talk with Jesse instead.
“I’ll have a chat with him later. I know he’s not doing badly.” You and Galactic helped him meet Mr. Auburn after all. “Besides, he's heading to bed. But you? I’ve never seen this side of you before.”
“Does it terrify you, Good looking?” Nurse Calamity giggles. “We tend to do that when we open up; it’s one of our family traits, right, Gallie? The deeper you dwell, the worse the outcome...”
“Don’t underestimate him, Cousin Kata. He’s an [INQUISITIVE SOUL]! The HORRORS don’t sway him!” Galactic has a good laugh.
“Oh please! I’ve shown enough to quench that thirst!” The girl in black is back in good humor. “A lady has to keep some secrets!”
“And well?” You ask for an *actual* answer.
“...I just said a lady has to keep some secrets.” Kata is taken aback by your question. “But I’ll talk. Just know that if you weren’t such a cutie-pie, I wouldn’t say a word!”
“How do you feel?” You ask again.
“It went as well as it could go, didn’t it?” Kata sighs. “The silver lining is that I have a chance to make things up — even if slightly — for what I’ve done. And let me assure you, I’m not taking it for granted. I owe this to you two, gentlemen. Treats will be on the house.” Kata smiles. “How’s that, handsome? Have I shown you enough?”
