<span class="mu-r">“Define ‘weird’. I feel like that’s pretty normal for a super scientist.”</span> you said. <span class="mu-r">“And I should know. I’ve got one in the family.”</span>
<span class="mu-b">“There’s been rumors of her conducting inhumane experiments, but no one can actually prove it. People think that it’s just limited to cosmetics and medicines, but I think they’ve gotten up to far nastier stuff down in the building’s sub-levels.”</span> Julia said in a conspiratorial tone. <span class="mu-b">“And its a known fact that she’s a monster boss. She fires people without a second thought, and humiliates her employees when they disappoint her. Small wonder she doesn’t have any friends.”</span>
Monster boss. Evil scientist. Anti-social. Got it.
<span class="mu-r">“What’s her scientific field? Connors didn’t say much on the matter.”</span>
<span class="mu-b">“She’s got her Masters in mechanical and chemical engineering. It’s part of why she’s so valued at that company.”</span> Julia explained, biting into another macaroon. <span class="mu-b">“Well that, and that patent she has on those freaky 'extend-o arms' of hers.”</span>
<span class="mu-r">“Oh, wait! She’s the one with those weird tentacles sticking out of her back!?”</span>
Julia nodded. <span class="mu-b">“That’s the one. People have been calling her 'Doctor Octopus' on social media ever since she was recorded while using them in a public demonstration.”</span>
<span class="mu-r">“I totally forgot about that. For some reason, her name wasn’t ringing any bells in my head these past few months.”</span> you said.
<span class="mu-b">“Not a lot of people out there with a surname like ‘Octavius’.”</span> Julia commented with a sly grin. <span class="mu-b">“I’m pretty sure her brother uses something similar, but his designs are fundamentally different.”</span>
<span class="mu-r">“She’s sort of a celebrity, then. Do you think she might be trying to hijack Oscorp’s experiments for her own company?”</span> you asked.
Julia bit her lip and leaned back in her seat. <span class="mu-b">“It’s definitely possible. She’s always been a person that values results over cost. I think it might be worth it to keep an eye on her.”</span>
You thought so too. But that would have to wait for now.
