The Underway was massive. It was, for the most part of Lucain’s sight, a cavern whose walls had been skillfully hollowed out by the hands of the Dwarfs. Their workings was evident to the Knight as the heads of their gods were layered across the place. So tall was the Ceiling that Lucian was able to ride Nightshade through the caverns with ease.
Lucian would have thought they’d be moving slowly, but he realized quickly that something was off about these roads under the ground. His Dwarfen companions, those who were the scouts of the King, seemed to keep walking speed with Nightshade and the rest of the party who made their way through the lanes.
Nothing more to say about Gillot, the Ducal Prince who was in the middle of the pack and walked with a sword. His helm upon his face, Lucian could not gleam anything from him.
The Scouts had taken point in case they were to spot anything, making it so Lucian and his group of riders were in the back as rear guard. It made sense for they would easily be able to strike against anything that would come at them with the intent to harm.
Taking his glance at his companions Lucian noticed both of the Lizardmen were walking with strides. The Skink on top the Kroxignor seemed rather entranced with something, focusing on something to deal with magic. At least that is what Lucian guessed it to be.
As for Adok, the Knight decided to call out to him, “You wanted to stay in Karak Ziflin a little longer?”
The Dwarf looked over from the stack of food being carried by Truffles with a mocking sadness, “Oh I am sadden to be leaving the realm of my kind. Damned I am to be back on the road towards the horrors that this Gods Damned World has to offer.”
“Be careful what you are saying.” Lucian said with a mock surprise on his face, “You follow the Heir of Ruin, he who keeps running into terrors beyond his wildest dreams!”
“Ha, you speak of the one who got himself thrown into a pit with some Traitor, or the word being that he jumped headfirst into an army of the dead and damned?” Adok joked with with a smirk.”
“Both were good ideas in the end.” Lucian told the Dwarf honestly.
“You fight like a Doomseeker would, unafraid of death.” Adok pointed out with a finger pointed at Lucian’s chest, “Perhaps the Rune is doing more than just giving you the strength of Dwarfs.”
