You only had two days left before your rematch with Matt. Might as well make the best use of your time and scour this whole city for your brother. But you couldn’t do it alone. You were gonna need as much help as you could get. And that meant calling in every favor you had and every friend that you could rely upon. Finding Richard Parker was now The Desperados’ top priority.
You pulled out your phone and started sending out messages…when someone placed a fresh cup of coffee onto the table! Your head jerked up, and a monkey was standing on top of the table! Where did it come from!? Has he been here this whole time?
It looked like a macaque, but you weren’t entirely sure. And it was wearing a…S.H.I.E.L.D uniform?
<span class="mu-r">“Uh…”</span>
You tried to gently push the cup away, and the monkey bared his sharp teeth, before pushing it back towards you. Was he offended by what you did? You looked into his eyes and saw…some type of intelligence, but you didn’t know how much of your words and gestures he could properly understand.
Either way, he was staring at you intently, and it didn’t look like he was going anywhere anytime soon. Carefully, you picked up the cup and took a sip. Your eyes widened. This was some of the best coffee that you’d ever tasted!
You gave the monkey an appreciative glance and nodded. <span class="mu-r">“Thanks.”</span>
He bared his fangs in a fearsome grin and plodded off behind the counter. You figured that it was <span class="mu-i">his</span> duty to lock up after you left.
<span class="mu-r">"If I ever have grandkids, I am gonna have the best stories."</span> you muttered to yourself, taking another sip.
