Lucian knew he was stepping in a foreign world as he looked around at the structures that were all about him. Just looking in Lucina could see massive spires of rock jutting to the ceiling as a plethora of homes, hovels, and such were scattered across the floor. Across the sides of this cavern were structures that ran up and down the walls of the mountain, each of which carved into the stone by the elegant hands of the craftsdwarfs.
Above there was only the gates that led into the hold, underneath the place was lively with more activity that even the great city of Aquitaine. Dwarfs were going from one end of the place to the other each with beasts of burden that Lucian had never seen before. Many of them, the Knight noticed, lacked eyes unlike their overground brethren.
Led by the corps of warriors, they were going towards the most opposite wall with what was clearly an ornate palace carved into the foundation of the mountain.
Lucian, gazing at all of this, only noticed Adok trying to get his attention when the Dwarf slammed his fist into the back of the Knight. Lucian barely stumbled from the impact, but looked towards the Dwarf whose eyes had a shine in them.
“Thanks for that, Umgi.” He said with a small cheer, “For that, I don’t think I am going to become a Slayer today.”
“You’re welcome.” Lucian said as he thought to himself for a moment, “But what was all of that about? You broke an oath?”
“Aye, remember that… quest I told you about. The one about finding the greatest drink?” The Dwarf hinted as they crossed over a trail that went over the heads of the common folk, “There are two things that I did not fully explain. First, I went on my travels… because of a disagreement with my Father. One thing went to another, and I vowed to never set foot in Karak Ankor until I found something to prove him wrong. Karak Ankor… is all lands of the Dawi.”
“You… banished yourself?” Lucian could not help keeping back the surprise within his voice.
“Think of it as one of your quests.” The Dwarf admitted as he gave a sigh, “I wanted to prove him wrong, but I have yet to do so. Returning early is a sign of defeat but you are clearly a good enough reason that they’ve yet to demand I shave my head. Sign of the Gods you are.” He ended while patting Lucian’s lower back with a familial chuckle.
>That is acceptable
>Yeah, I feel ya
>A betrayal of trust, that is.
