That way we can, we WILL, get them back.” you declare confidently. “It won’t be right away, I get that. But if we can find some way, any way, to detect those who are… well, misplaced somehow, then we’ve got our ticket to bringing them home.”
Kibito gives you a look as hard as stone. “You make it sound quite simple.”
“I don’t think it’s at all that simple. In fact, I’ll be blunt: this’ll be hard. We’re gonna need to pool our resources together, and put everything we can on the table to save them. So let’s do just that.” You get down back off the elevated outcropping you were standing on. “Kais? Do you have any ideas on how to save Shin?”
Kibito looks away gloomily, while South Supreme Kai closes his eyes in thought. Grand Supreme Kai looks at his hand, smiling sadly. “I might have been able to pull him back myself, but I sadly lack most of my original power.”
“Feh! You youngsters are giving up too easily.” another voice calls to him. The Elder Kai walks forward towards you all. “The girl’s got the right idea in finding other ways of getting ‘em back. Maybe we can’t get all of them, but an out of place Kai? That’s gonna raise some alarm bells to a certain someone.”
Kibito and South Supreme Kai are a little confused, but Grand Supreme Kai seems to understand what he’s getting at. “Hmm… yes, she may be just the person to turn to.”
“She?” Maple repeats. “Wait, the Supreme Kai of Time, right?” she asks with rising hope.
“Yes, that’s one avenue we have open to us.” Grand Supreme Kai confirms.
“So, maybe another could be looking for some obvious tell, or sign. Something that shows they’re ‘out of place’ or whatnot. And if not… well, how plausible would it be to send some kind of hook or lure? Or… well, dangerous…” You rub the back of your neck a bit.
“While exceptionally difficult, the former is a better avenue to explore.” Jaki states. “I wouldn’t recommend prodding spacetime in that manner.”
“Scrying for them, then?” Ume speaks up. “Gohan and Maple have pointed out how we might be able to get a group of people to work on it. And looking for someone that doesn’t quite belong could be an easier way to focus on that.”
