>>5124901The Insane Underpants Fanatic is swaying, as if entering a hypnotic trance. You find you generally have to take very shallow breaths in his presence, because he smells really really bad. Foul and unpleasant. Suddenly the Cultist snaps out of it. He is really happy:
You must understand, these underpants - they are not a disguise. No, no - nothing so crude and simple as that! They are an important religious symbol! They help us remember the Great Injustice! Even if it makes us look a bit like terrorists with dirty rags on our heads - that is a price we are willing to pay.
You see there were these two people once. We call them the Torturer and The Betrayer. Now the Torturer, everyone knows him, we forgot his symbol but we think it was some way of executing people or something. You know he is evil, because his followers venerate this symbol of torture, and go around torturing unbelievers! Now there is the Betrayer, he did a really good thing, he followed Heaven's Edict and betrayed this evil Torturer. How noble, how honourable! Would you not do the same? But what was the reward for our noble Betrayer? What happened to Him? Do followers chant His praises, raise cathedrals in His Name? No! And this is the Great Injustice!
You are almost daring yourself to ask and remind the Cultist to explain the underpants. You are holding your breath (the smell is unbearable) and waiting for the explanation...
Oh yes, the underpants! Well that is very simple. You see all the depictions of the Evil Torturer show him hanging in a strange position, and wearing only underpants around his waist but with a crown of sorts on his head. So we who follow the Betrayer choose to do the opposite, to wear our underpants instead on our head, to symbolise that we know! We know about the Great Injustice, how the Torturer and Heaven betrayed the Betrayer! It all makes sense!
(You think if you keep interacting with this psychotic individual, you will eventually go insane yourself.)
