>>5358574Along with your plans on helping Bernard play notebook-courier, you try to text John. You don't know why, but you feel the need to do so, which causes you to spend a good half-day battling your phone. Every time you think you've come up with just the right thing to say, fingers quickly jotting your words into the chat window, you delete them just as quickly, doubtful of yourself.
In that time, your cell phone gets flung across whatever room you're in more times than you can count: on your bed, against the couch, and one shameful time against the floor, you're wholly surprised that your phone hasn't ended up cracked at least once. Then again, you took money out of your own, meager funds (not John's nor your parent's) to buy an especially hardy cover for that phone-- no way you're going to explain to anyone that isn't Matt or Bernard why you need a new one.
Retrieving your phone, John's contact seems to mock you among the short list of your civilian contacts. At this point, however, it would be a hard stretch to think of John as a civilian.
Manipulative as it may seem, you feel like you could use this as an opportunity to wheedle some information out of him in regards to the X-Force's upcoming Maranzano raid. It's a small recompense, compared to the things your reptile of an older brother has done against you in the short time he's used his powers for FutureLabs' gain.
Opening John's chat log for what feels like the umpteenth time, you begin jotting down another message. Though you can't just cut to the chase (and there's a very good chance he might not answer at all), you want to write something that will give you the highest odds of John answering back, that being...
>Something genial: "Hey, is everything alright?/Hey, how's it going?">Something accusatory: "Hey, nice of you to tell us you were a mutant...">Something provocative: "Hey asshole, thanks a lot for the heads-up...">Write-in >>5358306

Whoops-- guess I fully misinterpreted you guys there.
10/10 Jenna would fling the Healer straight into space if she was into Matt. Then we'd have to sound the Cougar Alarm! But the Healer was more impressed about the fact that he was a non-mutant anyhow. As for why the Healer had referred to Matt as if she'd seen him before... well, I've been throwing small-ish hints for the past several threads, but we may or may not have seen her before... I'll leave you guys to guess.Word from the man himself: hoping the router will be repaired tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
