Quickly, you switched to your thermal vision in order to get a better grasp on where the vamps were hiding. A cursory glance revealed multiple cold-blooded individuals closing in on your position from all angles moving impossibly fast. You reacted before they could reach you, tossing out both web bombs to the left and right of you. They detonated on contact ensnaring anyone close enough to get hit and cutting off the approach of anyone behind the vanguard.
Instead of using this time to take out as many vamps as you possibly could, however, you continued to pursue the Mooncopter by following its smoke trail. Even if it had a built in stealth system, there was no way that it could hide after taking that much damage.
You felt numerous clawed hands reaching up and out at you as you fled, hissing and cursing your name. Well, your superhuman identity, at least. You began to wonder how they’d discovered it in the first place, but there were more pressing matters to focus on right now.
“Sorry fellas, but I’ve got a plane to catch!” you called out as you swung around the corner of a building.
—---
It didn’t take you long to find the damaged Mooncopter. But upon seeing it glide through the night sky without making so much as a peep, you immediately became aware of how it was that a room full of vampires managed to miss this thing coming. It was as if someone had thrown a giant frisbee through the air. You couldn’t hear the engines or the propellers at all!
While you marveled at the technological innovation that this vehicle represented, you noticed both 30mm chain guns rotating to face you. The barrels flashed, and you wasted no time in moving to avoid the oncoming fire. Thick, high caliber rounds slammed into the glass pane that you’d been running across to catch up with the plane. Even as you pushed off of the sheer surface to swing towards another building, you were surprised by how closely the pilot was able to track your movement. Most goons that you met were barely able to track you with their eyes when you moved, but this guy seemed to be trying to predict where you would be. And he wasn’t too far off, either!
Eventually, the Mooncopter stopped firing and retracted its guns. You were beginning to wonder what the pilot was planning to do…when the vehicle suddenly switched off its engines, flipped end over end in a barrel roll and stopped so that its nose now faced you. You froze suddenly, as two sets of missiles flew out of the sides. And those weren’t just any ordinary missiles! They were Folding Fin Aerial Rockets!
Your body started moving before your brain did, and you found yourself diving down to avoid a plethora of mini-missiles that were now chasing after you.
“Of course they’d be heat-seeking, too!” you cried. “Because, why wouldn’t they!?”
