You assume that staying near light would weaken or negate this environmental hazard but you may draw more attention to yourselves
There could also be riches in dark, forgotten places here.
As for the actual trip to the apartments? It's a long and tedious process due to the haze surrounding this district- wait. You don't think you remember the exact sub-district you went to.
Max notices this and hands you the ticket. You scan it to see...ZETA-9. Thank god. There should be less of the creepy cannibals here.
The crowd thins out a bit about twenty minutes of walking and lo and behold! You find yourself at the entrance of an apartment complex. An old crumbling brick wall about ten feet high surrounds the perimeter of the complex. There's a road leading right into the apartment complex but the way inside is blocked by a sturdy iron gate.
Before your group tries to find a way to break in...someone opens the door. You couldn't see who though.
You hand out the NIGHTMARE VISION GOOGLES to Clover and the two DWARFSTONES to Benjamin and Max for good luck before checking on the complex itself.

The air here is lighter here. That's not to say you've already escaped the haze, no, a good thick layer of it still coats the streets of this gated apartment complex. But for the time being its just a little bit easier to think.
The concrete road and buildings are surrounded by tuffs of hearty weeds and dark purple grass that have adapted to the poor light conditions here. Benjamin coos upon seeing new specimens and moves to harvest some for later experimentation.
>+1 CHARGE to his PHARMACIST BOON! HE HAS 3 LEFT!The complex itself has around twelve three story buildings inside of its gated walls, six on each side. Each building looks the exact same to the one next to it. Each one is a featureless blocky tower of brown bricks that makes your former apartment in G-Corp look like a luxury suite despite how mediocre that one was. You couldn't tell any of them apart at a glance.
Oil-lit lanterns hang by the entrances and windows of each building which casts the whole place in a light orange haze that, while not welcoming, is at least more tolerable than before. A few people are standing by their balconies to have a smoke or to hang out some laundry.
There's a few people wandering through the street. Most are stragglers, like the disguise you have on, but maybe one or two of them look like they would be researchers if their maroon labcoats have anything to say. There doesn't seem to be anything else of note here beyond the buildings but that's when Kiara points out something at the end of the road.
A short, stout building with a barely visible sign reading "HIRING NOW!" on it. Probably hiring for anyone who can clean or maintain the apartment buildings. Maybe the owner(s) of the buildings are there? Who knows.
