One of the girls prepares wood and brings life to the small oven under the goemonburo while the others bring in water and fill the bath to the top. While you wait, a small matter arises, how do you remove your kimono if you are attached to Yuki by a chain? After some thinking, Yuki comes up with a solution. First, he has the women take away your Hakama, shoes, socks, and the rest of the bottom part of your outfit, to be washed before producing a key and unlocking your cuffs. The little bastard had the key on him the whole time.
"So, you trust me not to run away?"
"I trust that I can easily track down a naked man running through the streets, with the palace so close it won't be too hard for me to find some armed men. However, it is wrong to assume that I do not trust you. Having you chained to me is simply the rules that I must engage in."
Once everything is ready, the women leave and you finally enter the goemonburo. You find it immediately relaxing. The warm water is therapeutic on your stiff body, there is even some soap to wash away the filth should you choose to use it. Yuki sits on a stool next to you and dips his finger in to check the temperature. He swirls his finger in the water for several minutes lost in thought, before sharing his mind with you.
"Something is not right here, but is it related to my investigation?" Its a rhetorical question, he does not wait for you to answer.
"I cannot simply investigate where I wish without evidence, I would need some due cause first. Additionally, if I was to find a crime here I may be forced to deal with it even if it means delaying my true investigation. They may not even end up being correlated."
So what does he want you to do about it?
"Nothing of course, I am just thinking out loud. Now, If you don't mind the heat is making me slightly dizzy. I trust If I take a moment to step outside you will not run off?"
He stands, and leaves out the door. Waiting outside are the three women who are taking care of you, one leaves with Yuki and the rest remain.
