“Tell me more about this Nazi bee.” you requested.
Lorina gave you an eager grin. “He’s apparently an expert in toxins and beekeeping. One day, he came across super smart bees and tried to use some wacky device to put them under his control. But instead of controlling them, he only pissed them off!” Lorina exclaimed, retelling the event with the same enthusiasm that you’d normally see at a summer camp bonfire. “The mutant bees swarmed him, and stung him over and over and over until…”
You all leaned closer.
“He died!” she finished.
“Well, obviously.” Prowler scoffed.
“Or so we thought!” White Rabbit continued. “Instead of departing this world, Fritz somehow managed to merge his consciousness with the mutant swarm, becoming the living embodiment of a bunch of bees!”
Cat and Prowler traded doubtful looks, but you and Flint were a little more informed on how strange meta abilities could be. If Flint’s entire soul could fit inside a grain of sand, then you don’t see how Dr. Fritz’ mind couldn’t fit inside of a bee.
“So that’s really him in that jar?” Flint asked.
Lorina nodded. “My specialists have identified it as the ‘Queen Bee’. We think it's something like the ‘main brain’.”
“And you want us to steal a bunch of bees for you, so that you can put him back together again.” Cat concluded.
“More or less, yeah.” she shrugged.
“Is New York woefully underpopulated by bees or something?” you said. “Can’t he just go around and gather a bee army on his own?”
White Rabbit placed the jar back down and gave you a “tut-tut” gesture. “He can do that, sure. But it would draw too much attention, and he could only really cover so much ground before someone responds and tries to take him down.” she explained. “But if we all split up and hit multiple locations at once, then they’ll be too confused and disoriented to figure out what we’re trying to do.”
“Just how many do you need?” Prowler inquired with what you guessed was a raised eyebrow.
White Rabbit spread her arms wide and gave him a wicked smile. “I want him to be as big as a house! That way, we can use him to corral civilians and curb any pigs that decide to crash our party.”
“Enough with the foreplay, Lori.” Cat put in. “Tell us the full plan already.”
Lorina snapped a gloved finger and then pressed it to her pink, painted nose. “As I’ve already let slip, we’re doing a bank job. The first step is getting those bees and bringing them to a location of my choosing, where we’ll revive Dr. Fritz and convince him to help us.”
“And how are we supposed to do that when he’s as big as a house?” Prowler asked.
