It was a fairly uneventful end to an eventful day. Acilia Porcaro had been downed over the enemies lines, though it was obvious she had managed to land mostly safely. So long as she wasn't hit while flying she'd probably be fine, all be it a POW. At least she would ideally not be so anxious.
For Eerika Härmälä she expected the evening to be like any other and was speaking with Zaria in this moment of spare time. It was mostly small talk, yet she was eager to get some insight as to some of the going ons given she had been held in reserve and hadn't had too much of a chance to see Elizabeth given all the praise she recently had gotten.
"So, I've been meaning to ask but how skilled do you think she is? I mean, she did kill an ace." Eerika said with a great deal of curiosity. Only to be met with a chuckle.
"Seriously? Skilled? She's got as much agility in the air as a penguin. It's a miracle she hasn't crashed yet, let alone actually down a fucking ace. And the bastard didn't die, he just landed." Zaria stated with a great deal of disinterest.
"Really? She if she's not good at flying then she has to be a crack shot at least!" Eerika said with a bit of concern. Why was Zaria so dismissive of this up and coming hero?
"She'd struggle to hit the broad side of a barn from the inside. You really should have seen her earlier. Before she got here she had about as many hours flight time as she has victories. The only thing she's skilled at is spinning a good stor-" Zaria said before being cut off by the sound of an air raid siren. To say it was unexpected would be an understatement.
Before the pilots could prepare or the aircraft could be readied for a scramble, the base would be bombed by a flight of Kronlein G.III's, a flight that was fittingly enough being attacked by Vert at the time.
Hours after the alarm was lowered, after the sun had set, the damage was assessed. Three pilots WIA, an aircraft destroyed, and one hanger damaged. Plenty of craters in the field and forest not far from the airbase.
