The sounds of motors continued to quake through the air as vehicles of all types continued coming to the campsite. It was a secure place that gave the raiders a full view of every direction so that the chances of ambush were minimized. Doubly so when numerous Armigers and Astartes were scouting the area looking for a potential ambush.
As they did so numerous torches were about the camp. One could walk through to see numerous kinds of mead traveling through the area as deliveries came from above and thought wagon trains. Let them be Counts, Squires, or Astartes all too part in the traditions of mankind.
Captain Lorch took a drink of his B3-3R with a grin crossing his lips. While they did not have the drink provided by their Father the atmosphere was mostly the same as it had been back during the Unification Wars. It was nice though that the air was not actively trying to kill you when you sat within it.
“Captain Lorch.” A Legionnaire reported on the local vox, “Squad Nine has arrived.”
“Come towards my location, we are all waiting for you.” Lorch answered back with a firmness within his voice that few Astartes could disobey.
“Understood Captain.” And with that the line cut.
Lorch took another moment for his eyes to wonder about the place as he grew a small grin. Such a thing was not lost by his fellow sitting next to him, “Has something caught your interest Captain?”
The Captain looked at his Acillian Cohort for a moment while losing said smile, “I was studying the scenery.”
“It is more colorful in many aspects compared to Lucius, I will give it that.” L3Kt went off as he reached down and tore out a clump of dirt, “Lucius is a barren world that only has industry. Where the heart of the Mechanicum thrives to push us forward. Here, in my hands, is what we started on. The grass of our home.”
The Astartes reached over and took a blade of grass in his hand. He took a small bit of it before nodding, “It is of Terra.”
That only turned what was a soft smile into a grin of satisfaction on the Acillian as he tossed the dirt, “And soon it will be reclaimed by Mars and Terra.”
The Astartes looked away for a moment as he said, “It will, there will be fields upon fields of crops all around it as they prepare this place. Some work will need to be done though, but that is the job of the Magos and Duke.”
