>>5879229As the current lazily brings you downstream…you think.
It’s really all you can do, letting the lazy river carry you and washing your worries away.
You could return home, but you’re pretty much sure your father will have already heard what you did in Sarnath with that damned lady…and you know how your old man is: he’s as likely to hug you for returning home alive after you tell him of your escape from the Dothraki, as he’s likely to beat your sorry ass for causing the scandal that placed you in the path of the Dothraki in the first place (via your demotion and stationing on the Eastern Frontier).

You decide to play it safe and let the stream carry you until you can reach Sathar, the capital of the region. After all you were stationed there for two years, surely you’re liable to find some of your old comrades…and you did invest some money in a shop, so maybe you could check if your old investment bore fruits?
Sounds like a half-decent plan: get something to eat, something to wear, and try to be presentable as a soldier, before…well, before deciding what to do afterward.

The trip downstream is rather uneventful…until you feel too tired to continue and decide to take a nap, the tension finally catching up to you, and your weakened body (weak from the 2 days march the Dothraki inflicted on you and your fellow captives when they captured you) doesn’t help.
You make your way to the shore…and notice something strange: there seems to be an abandoned cart not too far from here. It could be a good source of loot…or it could be a trap, given you’re not too far from one of the roads leading to Sathar and it’s not an unusual tactic for bandits to leave an “abandoned” cart, hiding nearby awaiting unsuspecting travelers.
What do you wish to do?
> Approach and see what could be in the cart> Run back to the streamIf you pick the first – roll me Awareness 3D6, DC ?? – or write-in what you wish to do: it’s a large cart, that seems in relative good shape. If it’s not an ambush you could reasonably expect to find something to use for your trip.
