>The settlers had no choice but to endure whatever challenges they faced. ‘They did so thanks to their pioneering Human spirit as well as Standard ‘Template Construction technology. STC machines can each replicate a specific device perfectly.
>With them the colonists fashioned tools, shelter, power generators, transport and more.
>Some settlers used them to create towering constructs called Knight suits. These formidable armoured walkers could traverse dangerous terrain, prevail through horrific climatic conditions and be used by their pilots to defend their settlements against attack.
>Piloted by the most skilled and charismatic of colonists they became the mailed fist of Human expansionism, smashing aside any all threats.
>Though the cultures on some Knight worlds regressed, and their technologies were slowly worn down, a surprisingly large number emerged from Old Night intact.
So many Knight Worlds were founded during the Dark Age and were brought up to STC levels of sophisticated colonies, given they were basically part of Mankinds Mech Suit exploration arm. Many did survive the Old Night intact.
This makes sense given Dutonis basically gave us 3 entire STCs in exchange for a pledge of worlds. I'm inclined to believe that Knight Worlds are just fundamentally different from Medieval/Fuedal Worlds in the Imperial taxonomy and level of sophistication but if someone can prove me wrong please tell me.
Onto the Dreadnoughts.
