With a burst of speed on open ground and a fire of determination, you are confident you can win against Brun. You dash up the rocks quickly- your sweating palm-pads quickly evaporating against the hot stone. While Brun is certainly a better outdoorsman then you are in climbing- you do have the advantage of height and reach on him, making you better able to clamor up these rises.
It's a hard climb. The sun beats down on you mercilessly. The only real rule was that both of you had to carry the same amount of water- one pouch. But your knots aren't quite up to snuff, because halfway up the mount you find your water pouch slipping and falling down the rise. Shit, you can't lose that. It's too important to just abandon it.
You look down to see where it landed, and behold, something unexpected. There is a tiny furry creature standing over the waterskin- a Nut Thief. This one is a wild one, it's fuzzy and unkempt with a darker fur color intended for camouflage. They aren't a domesticated species yet- though some people have thought of experimenting with selectively breeding them to become more docile...
But this one? It has your precious water. You creep closer and it freezes up. You've always been good with animals- how should you approach this one?
>Keep it calm and approach softly
>Dash at it to scare it away
>Throw a stone and kill it
