That is, until Kuro no Lancer overextended his staff and swung it a bit too high. Then Lancer of Black ducked under it, quickly shouting “HARPE!” and thrusted straight for his opponent’s head. While his strike didn’t land on his intended target, it still left a noticeable gash on his opponent’s left forearm as the latter hopped away. As he stood back onto his feet, he looked visibly shaken by the amount of damage Lancer of Black dealt him.
Truvietianne slowly exhaled, muttering “Took you long enough” with a smile.
“T-that spear, is called Harpe?!” Kuro no Lancer sputtered in fear while trying to regain a proper stance.
Declining to answer, Lancer of Black simply charged forward, putting as much forward pressure onto his opponent as he could. However, despite pressing his advantage due his opponent’s sudden lapse in morale, he couldn’t land another solid hit after all the damage he himself had taken, and with Kuro no Lancer currently back on his feet, focusing on evasion.
Breaking off his attack, Truvietianne’s Lancer started reaching for a bag he had at his belt and answered at last, “What’s wrong, hotshot? One little cut and you’re turning into a blubbering mess. Do you want a good fight, or a fight that makes you feel good about yourself?”
Regaining some of his composure, Kuro no Lancer replied, “I’ll admit, I took you too lightly. I hadn’t expected someone would have a weapon that could pierce my defenses so easily, so it came as a bit of a shock.” Pointing his quarterstaff directly at Lancer of Black’s chest, he growled, “Playtime’s over. RU-!”
CRASH!
A flash of lightning struck the street about 30 yards behind Kuro no Lancer. Since it wasn’t quite in your line of sight, you wordlessly signal to Avenger and Truvietianne to quickly move closer to the café’s entrance to get a better look. It seems that lightning strike wasn’t an attack so much as a method of transportation, as two Servants and two Masters had landed there. One of the Servants is a beautiful woman, her skin and hair white as snow and carrying a spear with a rather oddly-shaped tip, while the other looks like an archetypal wizard, wearing grey robes, a large hat, and carrying a wooden staff.
“Hooh, this looks like an interesting development, eh Master? Should we update my orders? Maybe I could blast that unsightly Caster to ashes?” Avenger purrs. These mood shifts cycling between ice queen and playfulness can be kind of unnerving.
“You’re right, we should-!” you start answering before you suddenly recognize the two Masters. They were two of the boys you saved in the fiery city! You think their surnames were Yumigawa and Matsuda, looks like they ended up summoning Servants and joining the Grail War too. You can’t help but wonder what could have happened to the short, cowardly one as well.
“What is it, Master?” Avenger calmly inquires.
