Doing your best to ignore the scornful and skeptical stares coming from the mob, Daitza and you approach the other priests. You politely ask them to heal her, explaning they’ve got to stop her internal bleeding at all costs…
They address you with respect, but you do notice a odd sense of superiority and contempt in their mannerisms - looking you up and down constantly, refusing to make direct contact with your eyes, not showing much interest in what you have to say, that sort of stuff. It’s like they see you as dumb savages rather than saviours sent here by their God. Murdock and that priest kid at the church didn’t make you feel this way.
Still, they’re not as bad as most dwarves, as they do end up agreeing to cast Healing Palms on the two of you. However, they refuse to heal you completely, as they need to ‘conserve mana’.
>Hyenus’ HP: Bruised (76%)>Daitza’s HP: Bruised (75%)“Aah… much better” Daitza murmurs, smiling. “I don’t feel like my stomach is on fire anymore.”
“Glad to hear that, Datz. All that blood you were puking up was starting to worry me.” You also feel much better than moments ago. There’s still some pain in your muscles here and there, but nothing so bad it would hamper your movements during combat.
More guards arrive to interrogate the witnesses and Kholgarsh on a secluded corner. Eventually, even Tygus – the head judge of the fortress – arrives and joins their conversation. The crowd has mostly dispersed as things gradually settle down, though some curious dwarves have stayed, mostly to pry on you and Datz.
