The party found themselves stumble eventually upon a secluded area along the trails they followed up to ascend the Shengesian land. A small village of sorts, which a river to the sea ran by. Fishers would catch fish from the river in nets or travel to the shoreline to fish. Rural and small. But there was something that smelled good! It made their stomachs grumble, since the last meal was back there in Siegesia.
"I wonder what kind of things they're cooking up here!" Spray Guy enthusiastically said, rubbing his palms together.
Thank goodness there was an eatery right there, with a large open window. Their specialty? Ca Chien Xa. They fried fish with lemongrass.
"I bet it looks as good as it smells!" Spray Guy said.
And then they got their dish.
"..."
Spray Guy, Catastrovania and Summers all recoiled. These fishes... were fried as is! They just straight up fried the entire thing! The skin was crispy but it looked grisly! They were serving the things on sticks!
"Mhmm! Mmhf! Sho goo'!"
The three of them turned to stare, mouths agape as Seannsa and the Greymalkins feasted.
"...Well, if they enjoy it..." Cata said, sticking her tongue out.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Spray Guy commented.
Seannsa held one of the sticks impaling multiple fried fish in their direction. They threw their hands up and denied it respectfully with excuses such as "I'm actually full still" and "I'm on a diet". She merely shrugged and continued to munch on the crispy fish. The meat peeled right off!
