“Indeed! –We can’t waste his sacrifice – goodbye, Ihor! – He was nice! – Awful goatee though.” Vanessa pockets her phone rubix cube.
Going through the top of the wall went smoothly, the lack of any kind of handrail made it a teensy-weensy scarier, but you made it to the stairs. These start getting narrower and steeper the farther you get, each column acting as a checkpoint for its reduction in width, until you arrive at the main entrance to the temple.
The Ancient Temple is as massive as the Lokyo Public Library. You commend its size, but it’s not the biggest building you’ve ever seen. Everything from the stairs themselves and the building is made out of stone, marble and such. The entrance is wide open like a cave, if anything this indicates people don’t come around these parts anymore.
You two peek inside to see if there’s any danger… And it was a good idea! Because there are people inside. Many unconscious guards on the floor surrounding the only 6 conscious people: An old Priestess, four of her guards and… Leon the Leon-Tamer. He’s injured, they beat him up.
“There’s nothing in these ruins anymore! Why did the rebel come here?! And where is she right now?!” The Elder Priestess furiously asks for answers.
“These lips are sealed, madam! It’s too late now, you’ve been successfully distracted! I told you, the Leon-Tamer always gets his man.” Leon chuckles in defiance.
“Take him out.” The Elder has enough. The guards knock Leon unconscious. “The sacred texts are not here anymore. What is that runt scheming?” The woman talks to herself. “Dispose of him quietly. Don’t let Madam Ning see any of this.”
Two of the guards grab the unconscious body of Leon. Another is checking on her fellow guards…
“Perhaps Marcela is at the very top of the summit? –Like in a nov— Like in a mov— It’s how things usually go.” Vanessa communicates through your magic cube. “Hold it! Don’t tell me you’re planning on helping Mr. Kitty? – Leon? – the Lion Tamer?”
You can’t fail Ihor now…
