“Sweet ingredients mixed!” Java tells her as he sets down a bowl with an almost fruit salad resting in some thick whipped cream, switching to chopping up some bacon. “Savory’s up next!”
“Let’s go go go!~” the blonde girl calls to him, setting down crepe after crepe and rolling the sweet ingredient in it.
“Sharpner, chop up that cabbage, quick!” Videl calls out, getting a batter ready just as he finishes. You raise an eyebrow at that at first, but then when it’s mixed together you realize what she’s going for. Savory okonomiyaki! Not a bad choice.
Gohan, as expected, is going for pancakes, but he’s making them just like mom does. Can’t go wrong with the classics! But you also notice Phanty mixing in some finely chopped peppers into some eggs… hah! Not just any peppers, bhut jolokia! Ghost peppers! You almost want to high-five her for that pun… and try some yourself.
…Where’d she even find those? Dream Land didn’t carry ‘em. You… think? Something to investigate later.
Hakka meanwhile is quick at work actually dipping mostly cooked sausages into the pancake batter, and then laying them in oil. Damn, pigs in a blanket cooked like that? Oooh those look good! Cheelai’s getting some fresh orange juice ready on the side, with a few fruits to go with the meal.
Zarid has whipped up several light, airy, and very delicious-looking light pancakes… they kinda remind you of sopapillas, and appropriately he sets aside some honey for each one. Sala on the other hand has managed to get breakfast teas started, a curious choice but one that might pay off well paired with Zarid’s stuff. You do see her get out a small jar with a blackish paste that you think is red bean paste, before Zarid shoots her a near death-glare. “You are NOT putting that on these.”
“Aw come on! It’s good f’r ya!” she protests.
“No yeast extract. You add that to soups, not spread it on pancakes.” Zarid adamantly declares.
She fakes a pout. “Spoilsport. These guys gotta live adventurously, mate!”
“...Why would you use yeast extract as a topping?” Ikose asks quietly but incredulously.
Sibella though ponders the idea. “Hmm… that might not be bad on pizza…”
He does a double-take. “N-no it wouldn’t? Why would…?” The boy shudders. “Let’s… stick with the other plan.”
She nods. “Right, right. Batcakes.”
“…Batcakes?” your girlfriend repeats.
You try to get a better look, and your face lights up in joy when you see what she means. She’s very carefully drawing out the shape of little bats with pancake batter! Aww, and giving them little eyes with chocolate chips too! That’s great!
