>>5787944Sun enters a deep state of concentration and slaps his palms together, a golden light shines from his body and two translucid clones of himself appear out of seemingly thin air. The clones strike a few macho poses before disappearing. “How about THAT?”
The THAT in question garnered the reaction Sun was fishing for, as looks of wonder get painted over almost all your faces since none of you have your Semblance unlocked yet.
Coco looks mortified at the concept of more Sun.
[Via Sun]: Sun’s unique ability. He can activate it to split all his bonuses in half, but in exchange he can roll two dice.
After that demonstration, everyone focuses their attention on the one person who hasn’t spoken yet.
“Wacthu got?” Sun asks.
“Yeah Piqui, I noticed you have a new staff.”
You sigh, but comply nonetheless. “Well, my revolver’s named Burden, it shoots. My staff can wack Grimm, it returns to me when thrown somehow.” You finish your own exposition.
A single look is all it takes to notice how disappointed everyone is.
You sigh yet again. Last time you said this it didn’t go over how you expected, but your family would never understand the life of a huntsman, surely your comrades would never laugh.
“The staff was given to me just this morning by my grandmother.”
“Yaya?” Coco asks.
“Yep. She says she made it after, y’know…” you give Coco a look and she understands what incident you are referencing. “To always protect me and my brother. When he was ready, he got one half.” You call Promised Return to your hand and stare longingly at its pulsing purple hues.
Unlike before, all your companions are staring intently at you, Sun whispers, “Cool…”
“But steel and Dust are not my greatest strength. All my promises are. The promise to protect life, to fight evil, and to return home at the end of the day.”
“That’s why the staff is called Promised Return.”
