>>5450966And you again. “Well, that much activity’s gotta work up an appetite, right? Which is why there’s a cooking competition! Each team will try to bake pancakes together, with points awarded by a panel of judges…” Majin Buu pops up excitedly for emphasis. “Though the teams can help themselves to the pancakes they make.” The slides switch over to, instead of a static picture, a video. “Ah, but what’s this? It’s the Battle Simulator Arcade Challenge, presented by Capsule Corp!”
“That’s right, Peppa!” Pantea greets through the screen. “Each team will pick a figurine modeled after one of Earth’s most notable Martial Artists and participate in a round of Capsule Corp’s latest product, the Battle Simulator! Points awarded for how much damage is dealt to the enemy AI team, with bonuses given to the team that knocks ‘em outta the park! …Aaaaand once it’s over, you’ll be free to take home the figurine you select for the simulator!”
“Oh but let’s not get ahead of ourselves…” Cocoa speaks up once more, tone darker as she gives a haunted and ghastly look down at the audience. “Because the next challenge will test your wits and your courage, for the Nightmare House awaits~! Points are awarded for each spook and specter and mummy and monster you pass, with a bonus given for the teams that make it out in one piece!”
And finally, it’s you and Cocoa announcing the last part. “And to finish it all off, we’ll go from frights to fluttering hearts in the Tunnel of Love! Each team will ask a trio of questions of each other, and then be quizzed on them all as they exit the tunnel. Points awarded for every right answer, with a bonus for the teams that get all of them right!”
“Now who’s ready…” Cocoa starts off.
“To see if dreams…” you continue.
“Come true?!~” the two of you exclaim together.
There’s some definite cheers among the crowd, and some of the more… muted participants are a bit more on-board with it now. Maple starts to direct the unpaired contestants to a couple tables, getting them to start drawing lots among themselves, only Videl, Sharpner, and who you are sure are Java and Latte left behind. Cocoa is a little giddy to see that. You can tell mom’s definitely looking to try to find some cute pairings among the group, but she’s not really influencing them (...as far as you’re aware, at least).
Cocoa takes a seat, exhaling in relief. “That went pretty well, honestly. Was a little long, but I think it turned out great.”
