The coordinates and lore that TalOS was given was something that sparked a moment’s interest. They spoke about an order of reclusive Priests who willingly departed from Mars roughly five thousand years ago on something other than a Cruiser. To hear of such a feat was mind boggling to TalOS as the Ark Mechanicus was designed to weather the storms of the Warp.
To forgo the safety of such a massive vessel and still go forwards into the warp was a feat only done by those who knew they were on a mission from the Machine God.
Thus TalOS fed the information into the Federation’s Exploratory fleet, the estimated trajectory and warp currents at the time of their departure. Such science was not science at all, TalOS admitted, as even with Lucius’s own study of the local currents was he able to divine a fate for these wayward travelers.
It was only when information was being gathered by numerous Forge Worlds, a network of readings and tests when each Forge World’s numerous attempts to break out of their landing system, that something was gained.
Thus TalOS narrowed his sights more and more before it resulted in an area that could actually be explored.
And for that TalOS was able to get the best results. TalOS arrived in a system of five planets, one of which was marked out as giving off vox signatures. The approach was done well enough as TalOS got a good sight of the planet these transmissions were coming from.
The Geology of the planet was one that would quickly be classified as a death world. Scans indicated that the planet hosted a hotter than average core while the planet itself was too far away from the star to keep the temperature regulated. Thus massive amounts of votexes were covering the planet that would only result in the deaths of any structure built on the surface.
So, TalOS reasoned, the planet played host to something underneath the crust.
But while signals were coming from that planet, TalOS noticed a specific string of vox transmissions coming from the local moon. The vessel in which he rode crossed into darkness, the vessel’s light shining upon what was quickly identified to be a moon station of some kind. TalOS sent them a message asking to whom they serve.
