Next was a mule girl, ironically named Molly, that began to speak, "The issue of infertility in hybrids is usually ignored due to how most tend to only propagate with a similar species after the first or second generation, yet I would be cautious. Not everything about hybrids is known still, it also very likely that infertility can happen in only the first generation, as I myself am the unlucky hybrid product of two pureblooded beastfolk."
And from then on they all began to go into the technical details of hybrids, using many Victorian medical terms you weren't particularly familiar with. But you recall hearing the word 'chromosome theory' thrown around here and there. A snore told you that Herta was sleeping through this, and Bertha's eyes seemed to glaze over as the lecture rambled on. Ayane listened with polite attentiveness, however Aila was the most studious. Your elf seemingly had gotten out a notebook and was writing things down on it. You realize Ruby would've loved to be listen to such complex things, and you make a mental note to ask Aila for a copy of her notes before you leave.
After what felt like an eternity the lecture ended, and everyone got up from their seats to leave. You noticed the two groups that had spoken about these things were hanging around the area, answering questions.
You couldn't help but notice how clinical and aseptic the lectures were. Though not fully devoid of the eccentric charm that made 'Kitsunes: Demi-Human or Beastfolk?' so memorable, they were still clearly holding back. You didn't doubt the original versions were more memorable, if even half the things said about them were true.
Anyway, were there any questions you wanted to ask the people that held the lectures before you leave?
>Yes. (What?) (To which group?)
>No.
>(Write-in).
You still had to speak to Todred about the exploding wand. He would soon give you the knowledge on where it originated, what it was for, the secrecy behind it, and many other things.
However, upon entering the laboratory, and going further into another passageway from the instructions Todred gave you, you don't find yourselves in some hidden room or secret area, but rather a classroom with windows and doors leading to the outside. Everything was unnaturally quiet. Todred had an open book in hand.
"Good afternoon, good evening." Todred closed the book he was reading with a small snap.
"Todred." You said. "It's good to see you again so soon."
"Indeed." Ayane added. "I've heard about what you've had to deal with. I'm sorry to hear that you were relegated to mere oversight."
"Do not apologize." Todred said. "You did nothing, and your Bad Luck does not count to that effect."
"That is where you're mistaken." Ayane grinned. "My Master has been able to find a cure for me."
"Oh?" Todred lifted an eyebrow, then gave a very rare smile when you and Ayane confirmed that you had figured out a way to get rid of the Bad Luck curse.
"It's impressive." He said.
