The Thousand Sons came as suddenly as the God that they worshiped. At one moment there was simply a larger than standard amount of tzeentchian Daemons that were fighting on that flank before they revealed the power armor that was hiding underneath their sheer mass of bodies and magical effects.
The Thousand Son Destroyer Marines had a shimmer in the air around them as they raised their arms. The Astartes did not simply rely upon their Daemon allies to sneak them near the front ranks of the Custodian Guard. While much more difficult in comparison to fooling the minds of mortals, these Marines were shifting the chromatic pattern of the air around them to disguise their forms behind what were prisms of ambient light.
By doing this they did not need to bother fooling the minds of either the Custodians or the Null Nobilite. They only needed to make sure the sorcery that was employed was stable long enough for them to reach the alotted range.
And they knew they were there.
They opened up upon the Custodians not with promethean fire but with the rainbow purple sorcery of their new liege. A torrent of colors that were both equally beautiful and mind numbing crossed the gap. Tzeentchian Daemons fell in the dozen as warp sigils that were shined across the once standard flamers glowed with fiendish delight at the trouble it was causing.
These attacks were supported by the sorcerer among their ranks, bluish purple eyes glowing as he released his own torrent of warpfire into the Guard that were stationed at that very position.
Standard STC Flamers would have no effect upon the bodies of the Custodian Guard. Custodian Plate was space worthy to a fault and Aurimite was a horrible conductor of heat. But this was no fire from the material realm but instead the foulness beyond it. The flames acted as little Daemons, sitting ontop of the armor instead of sliding off like oil.
These flames danced upon the surface of the Custodian looking for the cracks that were necessary for anatomical function. Sitting upon the now exposed skin of the Custodians, they sat there with joy as they inflicted death upon the one who was picked by the Diviner to experience death one more time.
