>Kindly inform her that you were NOT staring at her hungrily because you want to eat her. You definitely don’t do that sort of thing.
>Take a look at the hand in the muck. A body, perhaps..?
You stow away any thoughts of her heart breaking beauty (or bedframe breaking body) and attempt to assuage her concerns. “Please, pardon my gaze.” You smile, voice sweet as cream. “I only thought to see if you had need of my help, Mari.”
Your awesome sycophantry does not seem to assuage her (after all, you were certainly comfortable enough to stare at her slough her way through mud at length without your help). “You.. did you say you had a surname, Ava?” Mari asks, her stare a little more hard than before.
“..Annapurna.” You stare back. “Avalsidal Annapurna. Why do you ask?”
“I see. It’s just.. I’ve never heard of a surname like that before.” Mari murmurs. “It’s strange..”
“A name from the old country. I come from old blood, you see.” You attempt to brush past the point. “..Please, excuse me a moment. I’ll see if I can find a path that agrees a bit more with your outfit.”
You continue to step easy through the swamp. The sister seems to be a little suspicious of you–but it’s no more than suspicion at this point. You may be able to smooth it over with a win, like if you were to find a path through this marsh comfortable enough for her to pass easy through. But, still.. it’s best you quell those suspicions early, at least this shallow in the forest. You don’t want the sister to turn and run while it’s easy.
You turn your attention toward another curiosity in the swamp: a pale arm that sticks from the mud like a flower in bloom. You approach it, and, with a tentative breath, wrap your fingers around its own. The hand twitches.. and with a sudden, sharp wrench, you rip the arm and all below it above the mud.
“..Ah!” The zombie girl gasps, eyes fluttering open and gawping in shock at you. “..Lady Ava? Is that you..?”
“Renee?” Your brow furrows. “What.. what are you doing here?”
“Ah. I was just going for a spa day–mudbaths are all the rage among the undead girls now, you know. It does wonders for rotten skin.” Renee flicks a speck of mud off her cheek. “What are YOU doing here, Lady Ava..? You.. probably shouldn’t be here, to be honest.”
>You shouldn’t be here? What does she mean by that?
>You’re bringing a girl home. With EXTRA meat.
>Gently push her back under the mud. Better avoid getting caught around a zombie.
