Amidst the chaos, Astamon manages to get back onto its skull. His coat is ripped and he has a slight limp, but he plants the gun again and fires off another volley. This time, they pierce through fully. Deltamon staggers back and releases the Greymon, going into a death spasm as the middle head is slain. It starts to topple sideways.
Or at least, it would, if the two other heads weren't immediately ready to take over. The creature stabilizes itself, gaining control over its limbs once again. Both arms rise up over its lolling, lifeless skull, making it look bigger than before. Deltamon roars, sending a wave of kinetic force across the street and displacing Rookies on each side. The symphony sounds very different without the middle member.
Destroying just one head hasn't finished it off. Your partner has failed to kill it with a decisive strike. Now that it's so badly wounded, he can probably mop up without much hassle, but the ambush didn't go as cleanly as you hoped against a monster with multiple body parts.
You hear flapping from up above. An Airdramon is passing by, and has managed to lay eyes on you. It grins menacingly and begins to descend, forcing you to abandon your observation post on the rooftop. You activate your camo as planned, then roll off the roof, leaving the creature confused about your sudden disappearance. Digimon can be hurt by these falls, but your advantage is that your body can't get corrupted by such things, thanks to the pain cap. Leaping off buildings is second nature for you, especially when you have f1oat.
