You decide to go speak with Seshat, though instead of meeting her among the shelves of dusty books you come across her in the digital archives. She is walking passed carrying a large scroll and she looks... Different.
She stands taller and more confidently. She is missing her sweater and glasses, and she carries herself with much more grace. She doesn't give you much notice.
You go up to greet her and ask her how she's been.
"I am doing well, but I must ask. Do you I know you?" Seshat says, tilting her head slightly.
You say that you have met before, mentioning your time in the physical archives with Kamiko.
"Ah. Wrong Seshat." She says with a giggle, pointing to a nearby staircase. Confused, you walk down it.
To your surprise Tamako is sitting at a nearby table, reading manga and speaking with the archivist as you remember her looking.
"Sorry there isn't that large of a selection. We only keep copies of the stuff the SHR has published themselves." Seshat says quietly to your daughter.
"Why are you apologizing? It's not like it's your fault." Tamako says, looking up from a magical girl series of some kind. She sees you approach and waves you over.
Seshat smiles and says, "Ah, your little darling was just looking through our collection. She sure likes those graphic novels, doesn't she?"
She is indeed a fan of that sort of media. You rub Tamako's head while asking Seshat if she is keeping out of trouble.
"Oh yes! She is being perfectly respectful." The Egyptian goddess says. "She is very excited to put her new clearance to use."
"I just got here, it's not like I've had the chance to do anything." Tamako mumbles, going back to her manga.
You ask about her tabletop game, and if you can make a character sheet or whatever now so the next time the game comes up you'll be ready.
"Oh! I suppose you could." She says, going back behind her counter and pulling out an absolute tome of a rulebook with C&C printed on the front.
You comment that you probably don't have the time to read that whole thing.
"I can do the crunchy bits." She says with a smile. "Just tell me what sort of character you would want. Janitorial would be a good fit for the party with their morale boosting abilities and access to building keys. However other than the Manager class all the other ones are open."
Simplifying it down, she explains the other classes. IT builds models and has better luck with computer related tasks. Office workers, along with Temps, are necessary to get the work on a project down quickly and accurately. They are also the best at navigating office relations without the use of authority like the Managers or HR. Assistants are good at information gathering.
There seems to be quite a lot more to this game than you had imagined.
