>>5680840>>5680841So I completed about 85% of the Witcher 2 (I actually don't remember why I never completed the game, I think maybe I just got distracted by some other new videogame release) I completed the entirety of Witcher 3, got the good ending and also pretty much completionist cleared all the map icons Ubisoft Assassins Creed style lol.
If I remember in Witcher 3 the good ending is utterly bizarre it requires you to randomly play a snowball fight ??? IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS YOU ARE DOOMED DOOMED there is no in-game warning about this at all. Fortunately I had scoured all the forums beforehand I was obsessively following some faq whilst playing the game. My memory of Witcher 3 is that there was some good emotional storytelling, I liked the Baron storyline also the Triss torture interrogation fingernail bit hehe but the combat was a bit uninspiring it had this spinning lock-on feel which was annoying (especially in monster fights like the griffin one etc). I remember reading the faq bit about the good ending and being a bit enraged it just seemed completely random and very restrictive, what was the point of any of these random decisions. Geralt to me never had much charisma or appeal, basically all I can remember about him is he has two swords but the game doesn't let you use them dual wielded lol so what is the point and also it makes all of the game art a lie lol.
To me the appeal of the Witcher series comes more from the Polish medieval design aesthetics, the Polish artists seem to understand the historicity behind the "fantasy medieval look" the cities costumes weaponry armour etc (contrast Skyrim, or Dragon Age Inquisition cosplay armour noooo) so the atmosphere there is more believable. So mostly the enjoyment came from just absorbing the pretty art environments and the feel of the ambient surroundings
Obligatory Skellige music, this is pretty predictable, but it is the best song for me
