‘The Humiliation of Fulgrim’ was the title for that mock battle that TalOS had engaged his brother in. The way it sprung around the galaxy it was like a true war had taken place between the two brothers with TalOS holding his brother’s head in victory. The Fabricator General watched first hand at the consequences of these actions.
First and foremost it was quickly becoming one of the most perforated pieces of media throughout the Federation. Rare was the common person able to see battle, many of the data recordings from Skitarii selfishly hogged by the Mechanicum that this became their first view of real combat. The techno-sorcery of the Acillians and the pure majesty of Fulgrim made it so entertaining that everyone spent entire rations worth of food just to catch one of the many viewpoints of the Acillians on the field.
What helped the most was, unlike his public duel with Leman Russ, that TalOS won in this exercise. Add in the public declarations of TalOS’s ideals and loyalty to both the people and his cult allowed people to firmly believe in him.
There were outcries of Fulgrim’s words, the Primarch not realizing that his words were seen as uncouth when shown to the common Federal Citizen. It was quickly noted by TalOS that any Auxiliary or even basic shipments of goods to any Emperor’s Children fleet were suddenly backed up with delays and restrictions. For the Knights of Dutonis, none were willing to soil their banner in disgrace by serving the Primarch who seemed to loathe them.
TalOS did not blame them and he did not reverse it. The only time the Primarch acted was when Anti-Imperial sentiments came around. He would not allow a party fully against the Treaty of Olympus to form upon his domain.
If ever Fulgrim walked into the realm of TalOS or even the Mechanicum, he will likely never recover from what occurred. Failing in both a duel and battle he could not keep up the facade of elegance that he was previously enjoying.
There was an irony in all this that TalOS learned after all this. Fulgrim came to him to ask for assistance in recreating his Legion from near scratch. That was a clear failure if TalOS would guess.
It was with that thought that time continued on. His victory was no longer news but an annul of the recent past. The Federation, nearing a decade in existence, had something of an occurrence that shook the foundations. With TalOS’s victory and the prevalence of the Machine God’s presence within the Federation, Apostasy began to run rampant.
