"We're here for you." You hold your hand out to IN LIMBO.
"C'mon. Ya are already halfway there, missus." Anthony smiles warmly at IN LIMBO. "Just a few more steps."
IN LIMBO takes another shaky step towards the two of you. Its body struggles to hold itself together. Every step forward threatens to tear its body from limb to limb.
I spent years dreaming, rotting away, in that theater. Clinging onto a past that no longer exists.
Clinging to dreams, clinging to memories, refusing to move forward. Letting myself merge with my beloved theater.
This vapid dream I've obsessed over? To become a star? I can finally move on.
Dozens on dozens of flowers are falling off of its body, shed like fur off a dog. More and more of its- no, more of her mummified body is exposed. Soon, the only flowers left are the ones growing around her head: a wreath of bright pink poppies.
To move on without any regrets.
I lived a good life. Even if I failed to achieve my dreams, I still tried. I still cared.
My dreams were nothing more than wishes. That's fine. Dreams don't have to be any more than that.
There's still value to them. But I know better than to obsess over them. To let my life slip away over an impossible dream.
I should've realized that far sooner.
An odd, metallic creaking is coming from behind you. You and Anthony turn around to see that the airlock has suddenly opened all on its own.
I can see now.
I need to move on. I can't stay here.
IN LIMBO- No, Rolle continues to walk towards the exit. What's left of her body is single-mindedly focused on reaching that door. Neither of you wants to stop her. Something tells you that it doesn't matter if she gets out. Not anymore.
The two of you silently follow after her. The pollen cloud, thankfully, mostly stays behind in the cell.
Rolle takes her first step outside of the containment cell. In the corner of your eye, you spot Lucy panicking over the containment breach unfolding right in front of you.
Rolle pays no mind. She walks right up to the door leading out of your lab, and, with trembling hands, she opens it. The hallway outside is empty, of course. Probably a blessing considering what's happening right now.
Her body begins to crumble away. Heavy sheets of flaky skin are falling off of her body. You're not sure how long she's going to make you. You briefly humor the idea of giving her a sandwich, but you doubt she'd accept one at this point.
I don't have long. I know this.
Don't stop me. I have to keep moving. I refuse to let the past hold me back anymore.
I'm finally awake.
Thank you. For being there for me, Vincent.
She steps outside of your lab. Lucy scrambles over to see what the hell is going on. Neither you nor Anthony is going to stop her.
Her body continues to crumble with every step she takes down the hallway.
