“Yeah, yeah.” She mutters. “Looks to me like you just stabbed a dead dog.”
You first look to the map. It’s vast–upon close inspection, it appears to be one of the continent, and even the far off tips of some foreign countries' lands far beyond the stretches of PHORCYS’ SEA.
A lengthy route stretches out all across the map–the red line crosses distant country plains, stops in near every town, the capital several times over, some of the offshore islands, the ruins of the old kingdom, even in monstrous woods. The scrawl features tactile bumps for the blind to distinguish between certain areas on the maps, like mountains, plains, seas, and towns.
The notes themselves, however, are nigh impossible to decipher. The writing is so minuscule and scratchy that you can hardly make any of it out, as if it was made more to ascribe it to memory than to actually read. You do note, however, that the last stop on the map rests atop the CATACOMBS. You suppose that this is where his journey reaches the present.
You turn your attention next to the scraps of paper, lifting a handful and examining them more closely–in actuality, the “scribbles” here are just poor handwriting, distinct from the scratchy handwriting of the map. You’d berate your sisters for this sort of penmanship. You have to squint to decipher the mess.
March 17
Dad came to visit today. He brought a bunch of books from the capital! They’re about a super cool thief that steals things from bad guys.. I wonder if I could be like that when I grow up?
July 14
I had a dream that Dad was a frog. But I don’t think he’d was as cool..
August 30
Today Auntie Ava came to visit. She let me look at her floating sword, but she wouldn’t tell me how it works… I think it was a string!
April 9
I went to the library by myself today. I got more books, but they didn’t have any of the serials from the capital. I hope Dad comes back with the rest of them soon.
December 16
Today’s my birthday! Dad hasn’t come to see me yet, though, so I’m celebrating alone. I’ll tell him all about it when he gets back!
They’re diary entries, torn from some book.
You glance over to the old journal, the last most obvious scrap left behind of the wolfman’s. The parchment is of impressively fine make, but not very well taken care of–the front has a fanciful silver embossment whose letters have worn off with the passage of centuries. It appears to read M_S____DE LOG.
