Vulkan thought about the words that were placed against his own culture. How his people disposed of their corpses and the implications it gave. It was such a simple thought yet the sense that it gave was there.
“I… can see that.” Admitted Vulkan as he gave a small chuckle, “That might have been what happened in the first days of Nocturn, when we were just getting by. But those times ended and the tradition was made true.”
“And by committing it to tradition it has significance.” TalOS pointed out with a solemn feeling in his heart, “When it has significance it has value and that value cannot be ignored. Such value is for the people, and you never know if it holds some truth in the universe.”
“You are on to something, brother. I can see why these people made you their leader.” Vulkan commented as he gave a smile.
“It was for many reasons.” TalOS told Vulkan as he had a moment’s thoughts, “As I said earlier there are some truths that can be gleaned from them. Your people’s belief in fire is shared by Mezoa, a Forge World within this very system.”
“Really? I should meet them.” Laughed Vulkan as he gave a hearty chuckle, “If I ever have the time I will meet them.”
“They will be honored to meet you.” TalOS said as he brought a piece of Corpse Starch to his brother, “For now we still use Corpse Starch, but soon it will be faded out with the productions of Agri-Worlds. For now, though, we subsist as we always had as a way to honor our dead.”
Vulkan looked upon it for another moment as if weighing the conversation they just had. Finally he took the meat and took a single bite of it. He seemed to weigh the taste of it before giving a small bit of a surprised look, “It… that is odd.”
“Fried Corpse Starch scrambles whatever memories the material might have possessed. Add the fact that it is made from thousands of different things and that their history was scrambled by the cooking.” TalOS could not help but mimic a laugh himself as a memory came up, “When I was young my mother tried to feed me raw Corpse Starch but I quickly learned the memories of everyone who was a part of it. After research, she discovered and employed this method to dampen the impact upon my person.”
“She is kind.” Vulkan said as he looked towards the direction that E11IE went to.
