"BACK UP! HE’S ENHANCED!” the leader of the mercenaries yells, and the captain seems confident despite being outnumbered. When another rock and bolt are sent towards the guard, he surprises you by swinging the warhammer around, and blocking both the bolt and the stone.
…Fine.
You take out your other pistol, and growl out:
“Parry this!”
He flinches, and when you fire, you can tell he failed to do as you instructed. Then, you yell at the twins:
“AIM FOR THE FISH!”
The captain’s armor seems to have blocked much of the actual blow, though he’s still reeling from being shot. The leader of the mercenaries makes use of the distraction to toss out his hook, letting it hook around the bastard’s shoulder before pulling him forward, away from the fish he was protecting…
That little pelagic beast, meanwhile, raises its staff with another gurgle, and it begins to chant something, even as a bolt strikes it right in the chest… and a stone strikes at its knee. Whether it’s just that tough or unable to feel pain isn’t clear, but it manages to finish its incantation, sending a wave of shadows all around it and reducing the moonlight to nearly nothing. Worse still…
The brackish pool begins to swirl once more, and with a thunderous roar, you see some new creature burst from under the waters. It looks like some disgusting mix of octopi and humans, slithered around a large shield and a salty and rusty caestus. It instantly slithers across, practically falling apart and re-assembling close to the fish with the staff.
You prepare for another fight, and you can tell the fish shaman is preparing another unholy spell. Guessing from the whirlpool, however, it may just be an escape route.
Glancing over to the captain, you can at least see that they managed to subdue him. With fists, boots, and by disarming him. They’re currently still kicking the shit out of the fat bastard, while the mercenary leader joins you for the fight:
“They’re keeping him in one place! I’m not attacking that thing if you’re not!” He says, clearly nervous from the sight of this unholy sight.
…
The kobolts are with you, though Chad is still wheezing from the strike he suffered. Thank god for the Gambeson.
>Charge it down. You can’t waste time. Kill that tentacle creature.
>Try to tackle the tentacle creature aside as you move in to kill the shaman
>Another plan of action
