The creature is dangerous at range; with a powerful cannon almost purpose designed to kill large groups of pikmin. You need to be careful.
You decide to range-find and distract the creature, this Groink, with your Bulbmin. They practically shake off the explosions- though a few are blown apart. Using this as a distraction, you send your orange pikmin to attack. Orange pikmin seem almost like a purpose-built counter to this creature- it has no means to defend itself from flying opponents. Using them until you can get the rest of your pikmin into position; you throw down a bitter spray to stun it and your army charges it, defeating it soundly.
While probably the most dangerous monster you faced yet; you still manage to defeat it and its biomechanical cannon. The treasure of this place is yours!
In the next chamber; an unusual altar holds a small object. It's made of some kind of leather, or maybe plant-fiber, and seems to be the same color of Spudmin, a kind of rich red-brown. More strangely are the familiar symbols on its side.
The moment you touch the object, the pikmin swell around you. Wooh! They cry, happily. You take the object and stretch it out, before placing it on your wrist like a bracelet. Somehow, the pikmin seem to regard you even more strongly as a leader now. While you can't possibly know this now- soon you will find out that your pikmin leadership ability has increased. You can now field 21 more Pikmin then before, for a new maximum total of 121 Pikmin on the field at one time.
All in all; this dungeon was the deepest and most dangerous by far. Aftewards, you lost a decent amount of pikmin- but kept most due to your good tactical decisions and balanced Pikmin army. While you'll lose whatever Bulbmin you have after this; most of the pikmin you brought in will walk out. Good job.
