After two and a half seconds of confusion Perterabo finally presented his case, “I had studied my Legion’s tactics and stratagems for the three month journey to Terra. It was enough time for me to understand that my a greater restructuring than simply I taking the head. There was corruption as my Sons organized the killing of each other or the use of tactics simply because the Legion Master was the one who discovered it.”
TalOS’s eyes narrowed upon his brother as he spoke the next few words, “Who did you plan to have killed?”
“Of the three hundred eighty five that were executed, two hundred five were officers. Do the math Brother, I decimated my Legion so why was the majority of my sons who died part of what should have been fifteen percent of my Legion.”
That was interesting and TalOS was given more understanding as he reached into the depths of his personal knowledge, “Probability was incorrect, so those that died tried to circumvent the punishment by reaching to both Historic and Cultural Precedent. You played your own sons to try to cull those who thought themselves cunning.”
A sick sense of satisfaction swelled from Perterabo as he gave a victorious grin, “Never will I know each and every one of my sons. Those who scheme behind my back will never show their true faces to me. I let it slip into the Legion that those with the shortest stick will die. They had enough time that those fools did their research and found my words were exactly like those the Olympians used. They were so sure of themselves that it got them killed.”
It was somewhat sickening that there was a sense of logic TalOS would find behind such a devastating event. He did not do it out of spite, but he did it out of some twisted sense of martial justice.
“And what of those who died because of chance. What of the Officers who found themselves dying even though they did not know anything.” TalOS shot back with his desire to be the devil’s advocate, “What of those who chose to kill themselves instead of letting those under their command die?”
“They died for the cause of remaking the 4th Legion.” Perterabo told TalOS without a sense of regret within his voice, “And there were none who would have killed themselves to save their brothers.”
>Fine, your logic is sound.
>There are much better ways to do it, even if you are right that such rot should be removed.
>Using logic for such deeds is sin in itself.
