The changeling crawls out from the pile of costumes, and then realizes she should put together a disguise if she is going to wander around where ever she is. She grabs one of the longer, frilled tops off the rack and wears it like a dress. Next, she takes one of the masks from the shelf and pops her head into it.. She then grabs one of the smaller mallets from the cubbyholes. With Tamako's disguise complete, she gingerly opens the door to the storeroom and peaks out.
The changeling follows the honking, squeaking noises and voices down the narrow hallway of the braced wooden tunnel. There are a few more doors branching off it, but only one open one with a group of armed clowns huddled in the doorway. Joining the throng, she attempts to get towards the front so she can see what's in the room, but mostly has to bob around and glance through legs or catch glimpses between the shuffling of the other's arms. The mob's attention is on a singular clown holding a bat, It's head half-caved in and still badly injured otherwise. It's standing over the bodies of it's supposed comrades, probably having taken them out. However Tamako quickly notices that behind that clown are a few cages, three of which are filled. One is holding Emogen, hog-tied and unconscious. The second has a clown that she recognizes as the princess from the Mime Queen's picture.
Most importantly however, the third cage has her dad! He looks okay, but he is tied up with his hands behind his back, watching the scene unfold.
"-just raises another one!" A clown says, seemingly explaining to someone else in the crowd.
"Stupid 'uman. Did you expect zis sairt of plan to wairk? All you are doeng eez makeng yur jailairs angriair." Another voice says, Tamako barely able to understand it.
It's not Dad who answers however, but the singular clown. Swinging the bat erratically and baring it's sharp clown fangs it says, "Back away, you bumbling buffos! I won't let anyone take him from me!"
"What eez éven zé point of zis? Inévitab-lee eet weehl end wiv yur zombie banished and you beaten 'alf to death." The accented voice replies with a sigh.
"Anyone else comin'?" Tamako hears one of the closer clowns whisper to another in the group.
"I think I heard Pierrot is here, so probably him." it responds.
"Ah, that'll end things quick." The first clown says with a snicker.
