SHDO is incredulous at the prospect.
"Wait, how? Legion doesn't have external cables to interface with electronics!"
"Why, it's simple... let me run these lines of code..."
With that, Legion bites down on the cockpit area, its tongue finding a crack inside.
"You see, I glimpsed through FLRA's data on Legion, and it actually has some bioelectric organs all across its body. A couple of these are inside the fangs, even! That, combined with Legion's extraordinary tastebud nerves, provides me with all I need to access this MEKK's systems."
Suddenly, in the cyberspace where the sub-AIs are, a ghostly, glitchy projection of a foreign sub-AI appears.
"The MEKK had a sub-AI??"
SHDO whispered in surprise. Usually there's not enough room in the MEKK for a computer powerful enough to host a sub-AI, and yet, this one had. Might be an early prototype of a quantum computer, like the one that replaced Legion's brain.
"Keyword: had. This is but the collected fragments of its memory, a ghost, if you will. Let's see what it had to say."
The glitched ghost of the sub-AI starts to monotonely monologue.
"Goal: scout and find portal source. Day 15: pilot experienced mental breakdown and went catatonic. Had to take over as autopilot. Day 29: attacked by aerial Kaiju while pinpointing anomalous dimensional signal, assumed to be portal origin."
The holographic specter fizzles out.
"And that's all that I've been able to dredge, aside from some partial coordinates of the so-called dimensional signal. It seems like the MEKK had been struck repeatedly by lightning."
Upon this revelation, the sub-AIs convene again to decide what to do next...
